NC State Social Innovation + Entrepreneurship | A Place At The Table

A year-long team-based learning experience, that enables NC State’s social entrepreneurs and innovators to consider more fully their impact on humanity and our planet, exploring issues of ethics and sustainability at the intersection of the social sector and responsible business practices.

Under the guidance of program staff, a Social Entrepreneur-in-Residence, and faculty, business and community leaders, Social Innovation Fellows learn the adaptive leadership skills to become a successful entrepreneur and the technical skills to create and launch an enterprise or project that seeks to achieve positive social impact.

START Mentor

NCSU Women and Minority Engineering Program

START is an early intervention and peer-mentoring program for freshmen engineering students. Students are paired by either major, demographics, or both with an upper-class engineering student. START mentors meet with their teams on a regular basis to discuss issues like what classes to take or how to get an internship, enabling first-year engineering students to get off to a “good start.”
